A book is a set or collection of written, printed, illustrated, or blank sheets, made of paper, parchment, or other various material, usually fastened together to hinge at one side. A single sheet within a book is called a leaf, and each side of a leaf is called a page. A book produced in electronic format is known as an electronic book (e-book). Books may also refer to works of literature, or a main division of such a work. In library and information science, a book is called a monograph, to distinguish it from serial periodicals such as magazines, journals or newspapers. The body of all written works including books is literature. In novels and sometimes other types of books (e.g biographies), a book may be divided into several large sections, also called books (Book 1, Book 2, Book 3, etc). A lover of books is usually referred to as a bibliophile, a bibliophilist, or a philobiblist, or, more informally, a bookworm. A store where books are bought and sold is a bookstore or bookshop. Books can also be borrowed from libraries. History of booksMain article: History of booksFrom Wikipedia under the

I need to read other books, preferably fantasy, to heal my damaged eyes from reading twilight *cringe* You see, friends recommended this wretched book and I was completely disappointed in it. But anyways, I want to read fantasy books that is just a "fun read" like the Phantom Tollbooth or Alice in Wonderland. What other books are like this? Something that is a feel good book? Asked by kiraaa - Sun Oct 5 00:58:32 2008 - - 20 Answers - 3 Comments A. Check out the books by Tamora Pierce. They are light-hearted, girlpower type fantasy books with plenty of action and adventure. Start with "Alanna: The First Adventure" . Hope you like it! Also, I would strongly recommend a basic textbook on micro- and macro-economics. Good luck. Answered by TheSlayor - Mon Feb 18 15:53:51 2008 What are some good american historical fiction books?
Q. i looking for books related to american wars for example revolutionary war, civil war, ww1,ww2 my english teacher forces his students to read, analize, write essays and get tested on his boring and out dated books about america history. he want the books that we read in his class to connect to other classes. his intentions are good but he needs to choose better books and give kids more options. Please reccomend books are exciting, will apeal to kids age 12-14 and appropriate for class. can you also reccomend books not relating to war but in the same time period. any good books related to physcial science are also helpful. Asked by vampbookworm - Fri May 25 22:40:57 2007 - - 12 Answers - 0 Comments A. You should look into the author Ann Rinaldi, she writes excellent historical fiction for young readers both at the middle school and high school level and her books cover all the major events in history. Here are a couple: The Secret of Sarah Revere (Revolutionary War) An Acquaintance with Darkness (Civil War) A Break with Charity- (Salem Witch Trials) And she has many others. Excellent writer and she is used by a lot of classroom teachers although apparently not yours.
