Is there a way to find choral music by type, genre, subject, etc etc?
Q. My girlfriend and I are both in our High School Chorale. For solo and Ensemble we want to do a duet. We're thinking something involving love and such but that hasn't been decided yet. I'm wondering if there is a site that allows you to search for and listen to music by its subject (love for example). Since we aren't sure what we want to do, we want to look around some. If anyone has any suggestions those would be quite welcome as well. Thanks in advance

How do you Search "Open Questions" by subject?
Q. I see how to Search Answers by subject but dang if I can figure out how to Search "Open Questions" by subject. I don't want to scroll thru hundreds of random questions. How do it?
Asked by ernestT - Wed Jun 2 21:02:49 2010 - - 4 Answers - Comments

A. Glitches happen. Most of the time, however, if you click on the browse categories tab up at the top of the page, you are taken to open questions. That way, you can see everything (open) in those categories. If you want to search by a very specific word or phrase, use the search bar. Type in what you're looking for. When you get to the page with all the results, look to the left of the page. There are choices. One of them is the "status" of question you're looking for. Click to open the drop-down menu, then click on Open Questions. That's what you'll get.

A. "Subject to" usually means "influenced by" or "controlled by". It can also mean "relying on" or "restricted by". It can also mean "obligated to". The brief context offered would seem to indicate "influenced by" to be the best explanation.

what does it mean by subject matter in art work?
Q. what is the subject matter in the image "self portrait in the studio" 1976 by brett whiteley.
Asked by - Mon Apr 13 01:07:19 2009 - - 2 Answers - Comments

A. The subject matter is simply what the painting is of, in this instance it would be Brett Whitely in his studio (unless the title is completely misleading). It is also a matter of what he's doing in the studio; If he's juggling eels then this would also part of the subject but as you haven't provided an image I can't tell.

If an American citizen gets adopted by a British subject, can the American apply for British citizenship?
Q. My mother's brother is a British subject; if he agreed to adopt me, could I apply for British citizenship, or is there more of a process involved?
Asked by daibato - Sun Jul 27 13:54:22 2008 - - 2 Answers - Comments

A. If you were a minor yes. But it would have to be done legally (and your registration of citizenship would have to be filled out and sent to the Home Office before you were 18). Adoption A person born and adopted overseas by a British citizen has no automatic claim to citizenship. Parents of a minor child (under eighteen) can apply for citizenship on the child's behalf. This type of registration is at the discretion of the Secretary of State and not all applicants will be successful. If the adopted person is over 18, residence in the UK is necessary before qualifying and the application should be submitted to the Home Office while still resident there. A Commonwealth citizen adopted by a British citizen before 1 January 1983 may be… [cont.]

Should history be a required subject by law to learn since so few people have a real grasp on common facts?
Q. I understand some people aren't cut-out for academic education, but really history plays such a big part in the world politics wise, where lies and spin are made distorting historical facts continually and people who don't know history fall and keep falling for the same claptrap.

A. It is only by knowing history or the past that one can learn by the mistakes. When for whatever purpose, usually not good ones, the history is distorted, nobody can learn a thing. Are the FE/EIT exam questions grouped by subject?
Q. I'm taking the FE/EIT (fundamentals of engineering) exam in a month and was wondering if anyone knows if the questions are grouped by subject (i.e. all the math together, all the chem together, etc) or is everything randomly distributed? For the answer, is it the same for both the afternoon and morning session?
Asked by John Doe - Fri Sep 25 03:03:50 2009 - - 2 Answers - Comments

A. The questions are not separated into groups with headings. However, the questions are generally grouped together roughly by subject, although your thermo problem might be a chemistry problem to me. This is true for the afternoon part, as well. Hope this helps.

How to arrange mail by Subject/conversation?
Q. I'd like to arrange my mail by subject/conversation so the entire conversation would be together when the newest email linked to that same conversation arrives in the inbox. This is different from Sorting by subject. This feature is available using Microsoft Outlook. I was hoping the new Yahoo Mail would have this feature. Sorting by date is not the same either. I want to be able to delete the entire conversation/subject piece once i feel that the conversation is done. If i were to sort by date, each email even though it's part of the same conversation would be in the order of which it came in and so deleting the entire conversation would not be easier. A. The only way to do this in Yahoo web mail is to set up a folder for each conversation & have your Preferences set to direct the incoming replies to that conversation to that particular folder. When finished with the conversation delete all the emails in it & delete the folder. Seems like alot of work for that degree of organization. Maybe you're better off setting up Outlook as your default email client .

A. What are the other provisions in the contract. Is delivery of the subject matter a provision. This is where the legal issues come from. If no other provisions, such as insurance coverage etc. the buyer is stuck with the loss. In practice, subject matter is usually insured. UCC may provide additional guidance.

Any info on this appreciated, I don't know much about the format of the classes or anything and want to make an informed decision. Many thanks.
