What would happen if China invaded a ASEAN backed Viet Nam?
Q. What do you think would happen if China invaded Viet Nam [Which was backed by ASEAN] over the Paracel/Spratly Islands dispute? Who would the US Support? What would the UN have to say? Would China be expelled from any International organizations? Would China's foreign relations be affected?
Asked by - Tue Nov 16 01:29:02 2010 - Military - 3 Answers - Comments
A. Reasons that this is a retarded question; China wouldn't invade Vietnam. Other than the island dispute, they are on good terms (communists like each other). The US wouldn't support anyone. There would be no need for them to help china because china would send in more troops then they have people. The US wouldn't send troops to fight for the government that bean them in the battlefield 40 years ago. China wouldn't get kicked out of any club and the only foriegn relations it would effect are those it has with Vietnam. No one would mess with china, because the chinese could write a check and collapse any countries economy they please (they couldn't collapse the whole world economy but they could put one heck of a dent in it.

A. They may decide to operate if they can destroy the cancer in the bone thru means of chemo and/or radiation. Seldom do they operate if the cancer has spread to another area other than the original site. There is an exciting new trial being used right now with lung cancers, I'll attach the link for you. You could print it off and your Dad can ask his oncologist if he may be suitable for the trial.

how is our privacy invaded on a daily basis?
Q. For example, when out go to the store and the cashier asks for your telephone number, or when you order out, and you have to give your credit card number. What are some ways our privacy is invaded on a daily basis.
Asked by Jaden - Sun Feb 14 22:54:46 2010 - Adolescent - 15 Answers - Comments
A. If you don't want to give out your telephone number or credit card number then don't have them. It's that simple. I have a cell phone number and have given it to friends, family, the school, and doctor. That's it! I refuse to give it to anyone I know will sell it. You're credit card company sells your personal info in case you didn't know that. Other then that, I have no privacy! I'm married and the mother of three little boys.

Q. What were FIVE of the Barbaric Tribes that invaded the Roman Empire? Please don't use the Franks, Goths, Visigoths, or Lombards. Thanks for the help :)

A. Ostrogoths, Huns, Vandals, Anglo-Saxons and Avars. If you need more, the Bulgars, Alans, Suebi and Frisians also invaded, and the Anglo-Saxons were technically made up of the Anglos, Saxons and Jutes. In response to the answer above mine, "barbarian invasions" is synonymous with "migration period." What you call it is irrelevant, as it all refers to the same thing.

How do I get rid of tiny aunts that have invaded my whole house?
Q. We have tiny aunts that have invaded our whole house. I see one on the bedroom floor, another on the computer desk another walking around the bathroom floor, the kitchen floor, the living room floor the dining room table, the oven top, the counters. There's no way to find the nest since I find single aunts just about everywhere. Help me please. How do I get rid of them?

A. Call out an army of tiny uncles? Seriously, try Terro Ant Syrup. You use it by putting a drop on a piece of cardboard and setting it where you see the ants. They eat it and take it back to their nest and eventually kill the rest of the little ant family. After a week or so they should be gone.

A. Always possible; deeply, deeply unlikely. The US has got one major advantage over most other countries. Big ocean on one side, big ocean on the other side and friendly nations north and south. Those factors alone make it incredibly difficult to invade anywhere. The fact that to invade by land you'd have to come through Alaska and Canada to reach the main part of the USA and I can't see the Canadians being too pleased about that, either. Or you could try coming in through Mexico; I'd imagine the Mexicans might have a problem with that too. Currently only two nations in the world have anything approaching the kind of military spending to even think about it; China and Russia. Neither nation could successfully invade and conquer the whole USA… [cont.]

How does a country defend themselves if they are invaded?
Q. What I mean is, if a country, (I'll use the USA for example, because I live there), gets invaded, how does the country respond quickly? Because I would assume there aren't people manning AA guns or something of that nature, all night. So how would we truly defend ourselves from an unplanned invasion from a country? If you cannot tell me, I apologize for asking.

A. Your answer is quite thought provoking, and deserving of serious consideration and an equally serious answer. Invasions aren't usually announced in advance; otherwise the invaded country would have time to prepare. A good example of this is Poland in September of 1939. Pearl Harbor was attacked, but it wasn't what I'd call an invasion. To me, it would have been an invasion if the Japanese had also brought ground troops, which they didn't. Now, the Japanese actually DID invade Attu and Kiska during World War II, occupying these two Aleutian islands. As soon as it became known that our air space had been breached, fighter squadrons across the country would be scrambled and the National Guard would be mobilized, as the first line of defense.… [cont.]

That is why we can talk only about total casualties after WW2 when statistics services started to work again. Casualties are estimated between 20 and 27 millions people. Why not clear how much exactly? First years after the war Soviet government was hiding real figures because they didn't want to show to the West that losses among civilians were so huge. When times changed nowadays they say about 27 millions. About 11,5 of them are those who was on military service and all the rest are civilians - women, kids, old people (all the men were in army). An invasion is a military offensive consisting of all, or large parts of the armed forces of one geopolitical entity aggressively entering territory controlled by another such entity, generally with the objective of either conquering, liberating or re-establishing control or authority over a territory, forcing the partition of a country, altering the established government or gaining concessions from said government, or a combination thereof. An invasion can be the cause of a war, be a part of a larger strategy to end a war, or it can constitute an entire war in itself. Due to the large scale of the operations associated with invasions, they are usually strategic in planning and execution.
